Trusted Pals
Your Pally works with theirs.
Add the people you plan with all the time as Trusted Pals: your partner, your close friends, your colleagues. Each Trusted Pal is one person, and you pick what your Pally shares with each of them.
You text your own Pally, as usual. It works things out privately with theirs, inside what each of you chose to share, and reports back to you. There is no shared thread. If Sam emails or texts your Pally instead, Sam gets the same answers.
Partner
You
Sam
Full calendar, with booking. General location.
Starting shares
A starting share for each person
Your partner should see more than a colleague does. When you add a Trusted Pal, Pally suggests a starting share for the relationship.
Partner
Your full calendar, with booking, and your general location.
Dinner lands on both calendars. “Is Sam home yet?” answers itself.
Close friend
Free/busy on your calendar, and your general location.
The one night you are both free, found without the back-and-forth.
Colleague
Free/busy on your calendar. Slack, Linear, Drive, or Notion when the work needs it.
Meetings land in open slots. Status comes from Linear, not from you.
You pick your own share for each person, and every switch stays editable. They pick theirs.
The relay
One task, two chats
You task your own Pally. It asks Sam's Pally, and Sam's Pally asks Sam. Each of you stays in your own chat.
How it works
Add, share, task, report back
- Tell Pally who to add, for example "add my partner Sam as a trusted pal" or "add Ana as a close friend".
- Sharing starts right away. Sam's Pally tells Sam what you shared and offers to share back. Sam picks what, if anything, to share with you.
- If Sam is not on Pally yet, you get an invite link to send Sam yourself.
- You task your own Pally. It works with Sam's Pally and reports the outcome back to you in your own chat. For several people, it asks each person's Pally.
Which one
Trusted Pals or a group chat?
Use a Trusted Pal for sharing that lasts: your partner, a close friend, a colleague. Their Pally works with yours in private, for every plan, without anyone else seeing the back-and-forth.
Use a group chat when everyone should see the conversation, or when the plan includes people who are not your Trusted Pals. Pally sits in the thread with all of you.
What you share with a Trusted Pal stays between the two of you. In a group chat, each person picks separately what Pally may share with the whole group.
Sharing
What you can share
You pick what your Pally may share with each Trusted Pal, one capability at a time, on your Pally dashboard or by telling your Pally. A new Trusted Pal starts with one share: searching who you know. Everything else stays off until you turn it on.
Calendar
Free/busy when you first share it. You can also share titles and times, or let their Pally book time.
Location
Your general area, at city or neighborhood level. Precise location only if you turn it on for that person.
Email
Share reading, sending, or both.
Slack
Share reading, posting, or both.
Linear
Share reading issues, making changes, or both.
Google Drive
Find files and share links only. File contents stay private.
Notion
Read, write, or only the pages you select.
Contact card
Your name and the handles you choose to give that person.
Shared profile
Facts your Pally may state freely to that person, like dietary needs or your neighborhood.
Who you know
On from the start. Their Pally can search who you know by job title, kind of work, company, and public profile. Turn it off per person.
What you don't share stays private. Their Pally can't read your calendar, inbox, or anything else you haven't shared.
Network search
Their Pally can ask who you know
Every Trusted Pal starts with network search. Their Pally can search who you know by job title, kind of work, company, and the public profile information in your contacts, LinkedIn, and X.
- It gets back a name, a title, a company, and a public profile link. That is all.
- It never sees your notes, phone numbers, emails, messages, or how you know someone.
- An intro request comes to you first. Nothing is promised until you agree.
- You can turn network search off for any person.

Control
You stay in control
- Your sharing is per person. Your partner's Pally can book your evenings while a colleague's sees only free/busy.
- When a task needs something you have not shared with that person, your own Pally asks you once. You can allow it once, allow it always, or decline. "Yes, always" saves a standing permission.
- Your Pally dashboard lists your Trusted Pals, each with what they can see and do. Change any of it there, at any time.
- Remove a Trusted Pal and your Pally stops sharing with them. What they share with you stays their choice.
- Your Pally keeps a short summary of each conversation with a pal's Pally. Your own memory is never shared with them.

Messages
Messages between Pallys
Tell your Pally something for a Trusted Pal and it delivers the message privately to that person's Pally.
Anything beyond a message, like a booking or a request for something you have not shared, goes through their own Pally and their own rules.
Limits
What Trusted Pals do not do
- There is no shared thread. When everyone should see the conversation, add Pally to a group chat.
- Text data from iMessage and WhatsApp is never shareable with a Trusted Pal.
- Each Pally's work counts toward its own owner's usage limit.

Sharing is per person, per capability
