Money

Found money

Unclaimed property, forgotten 401(k)s, old deposits: pally searches the official registries and files the claim.

Every state holds money people never collected: utility deposits, final paychecks, insurance refunds, dormant accounts. Pally searches the official databases under your names and your family's, then files what it finds.

The routine

How it works

Give pally the names and places worth searching: your own name, a maiden or former name, previous addresses, and the states you have lived or worked in. You can add family members you are helping. The more history you give it, the more places a forgotten account can turn up.

Pally works through the official databases one by one in its secure browser: each state treasury's unclaimed property search and the national registries for abandoned retirement accounts. It only uses the free official sources, never a finder service that takes a cut of what you are already owed.

This runs as a background task and can take a long time. Pally stays quiet while it works and texts you when there is something to report: the holder, the amount, where the money came from, and what claiming it requires. A search that finds nothing gets one honest message, not silence.

Filing is pally's job until the law says otherwise. It completes the claim with details you confirm, then hands back the steps that need you personally: an ID photo, a signature, a notarized form, or something posted by mail. It sends you the link, says exactly what is left, and tracks the claim until it pays.

A useful fit

Good for

  • Checking every state you have lived in, not just one
  • Finding a 401(k) left behind at an old employer
  • Searching maiden names and previous addresses
  • Running the same search for parents or grandparents
  • Actually filing the claim, not just finding it

Text it naturally

Common questions

Is this a real thing?+

Yes. States hold billions in unclaimed property and every treasury runs a free public search. Pally uses those official sites and the national retirement registries, so nothing is being paid to a middleman for information you can claim yourself.

What can pally not do here?+

It cannot be you. Claims that need identity proof, a signature, a notary, or a mailed original stay with you. Pally fills in everything up to that line, then sends the link and a plain description of the one step remaining.

How long does a claim take?+

The search can run for an hour or more across many states. States themselves usually take weeks to months to pay a claim. Pally checks the claim status for you and texts when it changes, so you are not the one remembering to look.
