The best AI assistants that book flights in 2026
Meta's Muse is the best AI for booking a flight inside Meta's apps: in the US it searches live inventory from more than 500 airlines through Duffel and completes the purchase in its app or in WhatsApp. Pally is the best pick by text: it searches and ranks live fares, books the one you pick, and pays once you approve the charge in your payment wallet.
Most other AI tools stop before payment. Google's AI Mode builds the itinerary and tracks prices, then sends you to the airline or a booking site to buy, and ChatGPT no longer offers the agent mode that could complete checkouts.
Muse
Best for booking flights inside Meta's apps
Muse is Meta's personal agent, launched in the US on September 8, 2026, in its app, on muse.ai, and inside WhatsApp. Through a Duffel integration it searches live flights from more than 500 airlines, makes and cancels bookings, and pays through Link by Stripe after you approve.
Pros
- Books flights end to end inside the chat
- Live inventory from 500+ airlines through Duffel
- Pays with Link, including its purchase protections
Tradeoffs
- US only, and still in limited testing
- No price watching or hold-and-pay-later
Pricing: Meta's Help Center lists a Power plan at $20 a month with 500M Muse tokens per week, and a Maximum plan at $100 a month with 3B Muse tokens per week. "Muse is available for free with a usage limit." Paid tiers buy more usage, not extra features. The same page says Muse and its subscriptions are in limited testing and aren't available everywhere yet. Check latest pricing
Pally
Best for flights handled by text
Text Pally where and when, and it searches live fares across airlines, ranks a short list around your constraints, and books the one you pick: it fills in travelers, seats, and bags, and pays once you approve the charge in your payment wallet. Around the trip it checks you in when the window opens, texts you delays and gate changes, and works the rebooking and compensation claim if a flight is canceled.
Pros
- Books and pays by text, with hold-and-pay-later on eligible fares
- Watches booked fares and claims price drops
- Check-in plus live delay and gate-change texts
- Rebooking help and compensation claims after a cancellation
Tradeoffs
- Pays through a payment wallet you set up once
- A new airline login is saved once to Pally's password vault
Pricing: Pally is free, with almost unlimited usage limits. No waitlist or invitation. Cloud Mac is a paid add-on. See what's included
Google AI Mode
Best for trip planning and fare alerts
Google Search's AI Mode builds a full flight itinerary in conversation, sets price alerts as you chat, and emails you when fares change, in more than 180 countries. You buy the tickets on the airline's website or your preferred booking site.
Pros
- Builds the itinerary in one conversation
- Email price alerts in more than 180 countries
- Free in Google Search
Tradeoffs
- You buy flights on another site
- Not an assistant you text
ChatGPT
Best for travel research
ChatGPT is strong for route ideas, travel research, and weighing options, but it does not complete a flight purchase: ChatGPT no longer offers the agent mode that could browse and check out. Treat it as a research tool, then book elsewhere.
Pros
- Strong travel research on the free plan
- Good at weighing routes and trade-offs
- Deep research for complex trips
Tradeoffs
- Cannot complete a flight purchase
- Does not watch your flight or text you changes
Pricing: ChatGPT has a free plan with unlimited everyday text chats and limited uploads, images, voice, research, and memory. Advanced models and broader tool access require paid plans. Go offers more usage, Plus is $20 a month, and Pro comes in $100, $200, and $500 monthly tiers. Business and Enterprise plans are also available. Check latest pricing
Instinct
Best for flights inside a text-and-call assistant (invite only)
Instinct is a text-and-call assistant on iMessage and WhatsApp that finds flights, arranges rides, and can buy things as part of a task. It is free during an invite-only beta, so few readers can use it yet.
Pros
- Text or call it
- Finds flights and arranges rides
- Free during the beta
Tradeoffs
- Invite-only waitlist
- No published price after the beta
Pricing: Instinct has not published pricing. Access to its closed beta starts with a waitlist, and its terms say some features may require fees. Check latest pricing
Bottom line
How to choose
Pick Muse if you are in the US and want to book inside Meta's app or WhatsApp. Pick Pally when you want the booking done by text, plus help for the whole trip: fare holds, price-drop claims, check-in, delay and gate alerts, and rebooking after a cancellation.
Muse also suits you if you want to pay with Link by Stripe and its purchase protections. Google AI Mode is a strong free planner, and ChatGPT is a research tool rather than a way to book.
