The case for Grok Bot

Pick Grok Bot if your team wants AI coworkers for sales, operations, or engineering work on a shared cloud computer, and you already pay for Cursor or SuperGrok. It is built for work you would hand to a colleague, and Team Bots in Slack, SSO, and its approval rules suit a company rollout.

The case for Pally

Pick Pally if you want one assistant for your own life, work included: family, friends, errands, and the inbox. You text it in iMessage, RCS, or Telegram, or call its number, and it's free. Where Grok Bot shines.

A team, not one assistant

You create several named Bots, each with its own job, and they run in parallel. They message each other, share work, and pass tasks along, so you aren't the go-between.

A real computer in the cloud

Bots share a persistent cloud computer with a browser, files, and a terminal. They work in tools that have no clean API, and the work continues when your laptop is closed.

Learns by watching

Teach a task records you doing a browser workflow once, for up to ten minutes, and turns it into a draft skill. Routines then run it on a schedule or when an event arrives.

Serious admin controls

Auto-review checks each action before it runs, with Ask first and Allow automatically rules. Teams get Team Bots in Slack, SSO, private networks, and action recording.

What each one costs.

Grok Bot

$20/mo

Grok Bot has no separate subscription. It is included with Cursor Pro ($20 a month), Pro+, Ultra, and self-serve Teams, or you can link an individual SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy, or X Premium+ subscription. Each plan grants weekly usage, and higher tiers grant more; on-demand usage continues past the grant if you turn it on. New accounts get a free trial credit with a 7-day window.

Pally

Free

Pally is free, with almost unlimited usage limits. No waitlist or invitation. Cloud Mac is a paid add-on. Every connection, every automation, calls, and its own number and email.

Switching from Grok Bot.

Pally's setup is texting a number, and connecting accounts is tapping a link it sends you. No account to create first.

  1. Connect your email and calendar first

Gmail, Outlook, or iCloud Mail, and your calendars. Pally flags what needs you, summarizes the rest, and checks availability, books and moves events.

  2. Then add the rest

Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Drive, your own WhatsApp, your bank, and your own MCP servers. Save logins to its password vault and Pally runs web errands in a browser with them. Add it to group chats, with per-capability grants controlling what it shares from your accounts.

  3. What carries over

Your accounts: Pally works from the email, calendars, and apps you already use. It remembers the people in your life and what matters to them, and you can browse and edit that memory in its web dashboard.

Pally vs Grok Bot FAQ.

What is Grok Bot?

Grok Bot is the always-on agent app from X, the company behind Grok, launched in beta on August 11, 2026. You create named Bots that work on a shared cloud computer with a browser, files, and a terminal, use connected apps, and keep working after you close your laptop. It is separate from the Grok chat app and the @grok account on X.

What does Grok Bot cost?

It comes with Cursor Pro ($20 a month), Pro+, Ultra, and Teams, or with a linked SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy, or X Premium+ subscription. Usage resets weekly, and you can add on-demand usage. Pally is free.

Can I text Grok Bot like I text Pally?

No. You talk to Bots in the Grok Bot apps for Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, and Android, and team Bots can also join Slack. You can hand a post to your Bot by tagging @bot on X in most countries. You text Pally in your phone's own messages app, over iMessage, RCS, or Telegram, and you can also email it or call its number.

Does Grok Bot have its own email address?

Yes. You can claim one address at mail.grokbot.com that all your Bots share. They can send from it with your OK, and a routine can act on mail that arrives. Pally also has its own email address.

Can Grok Bot make phone calls?

Only through third-party plugins. Voice chat is a live conversation with your Bot inside the app, and a Bot has no phone number of its own. Pally calls businesses for you, waits on hold, and gets through phone menus. Give out its number and Pally picks up, handles the call, and tells you what happened.

Which AI model does Grok Bot use?

There is no model picker. Grok Bot routes each task to the model it expects to do best, which can be one of X's Grok models or a third-party model from Cursor's sub-processor list.

So how does Pally make money?

Pally plans to earn a fee from merchants when you buy through it. Merchants can never pay to change what Pally recommends to you. Cloud Mac, an optional add-on, is paid.

Stay on top of everything.
