Fo is the first agent from Wajo, a San Francisco startup led by Shivani Poddar, who previously launched frontier models at Google DeepMind and products at Google Labs. Wajo launched Fo on 25 August 2026 as an "action agent" with its own email address, phone number, and payment card. Fo calls, emails, and coordinates with people to get your to-dos done: it books the dentist, sits through the hold music, rebooks a delayed flight, sends the flowers, and joins group chats to handle the back-and-forth. When a task can't be finished with AI alone, Wajo says its team steps in and handles it.
Pally does much of the same work from a different starting point. It is a contact in your phone's own messages app, and it also reaches you on WhatsApp and Telegram. It connects your email, calendars, Slack, Notion, and bank accounts, runs web errands in a browser with your saved logins, books flights, joins your iMessage and Telegram group chats, and makes real phone calls for you on every plan. The clearest dividing line is identity. Fo acts as itself, from its own inbox and number, with a human team behind it. Pally acts for you, from your own accounts, and watches the inboxes you connect.

A human team behind the agent
When a task can't be completed with AI alone, Wajo says its own team steps in and handles it. Most agents stop at a polite failure message. Fo's promise is that the errand still gets done.
An identity of its own
Fo has its own email address, phone number, and payment card, and it emails from its own address rather than as you. Wajo's phrase for it is "empower not impersonate". If you'd rather an agent never speak in your name, that's a clean design.
A generous free tier
Fo Mini is free with 1,000 tasks a day, and an invite to OG Fo lifts the limit and adds unlimited call time and group chats, still at no cost. That is a lot of room to test it on real errands.
Published trust numbers
Wajo built a simulated world of businesses and people to test Fo, and published the results. In that evaluation Fo completed 71% of errands and kept the user's trust on 94% of runs built to tempt it into overstepping. Wajo notes these are simulated tasks, not measured outcomes for real users.

Fo starts in the Wajo web app, where you sign up and connect accounts, and from there you can text it, email it, or reach it in Slack, ChatGPT, or Claude. Pally starts in your texts: no account to create first, just a number to text, with typing indicators and read receipts, and it's also on WhatsApp and Telegram.
Acting as itself versus acting as you
Fo emails from its own address and never sends as you. Pally drafts in your voice and, once you approve, sends from your own account. Which one you want depends on whether the people on the other end should be dealing with you or with your agent.
Handed tasks versus watched inboxes
Fo is built around the tasks you hand it. Pally also watches what you already have: it flags the email that needs you, catches you up on your own WhatsApp, and sends a morning brief across email, calendar, and messages on every plan. Wajo doesn't advertise inbox alerts or a daily brief for Fo.

Training terms
Wajo's site says: "Your data is never used to train third-party AI models." Its terms (section 6.3) still license Wajo to use "de-identified and/or aggregated User Content and Input with training algorithms, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (including generative tools)" to improve its services and build new products. Pally configures its AI providers so user content is not used to train AI models.
